The Style Competition
I am a 24 year old sales boss and my work involves making sure that the sale goals given to my team are fulfilled. So far I have been successful and have been awarded the best performance award for the last 5 years. I have got a great income with hikes ever so frequently annually. I’m also a fashion freak. Not in the sense of wearing outrageous clothes everywhere I go but a more subtle sense of style. I make certain to dress casually but make it trendy. I try my best to look beautiful every single day.
I adore it when I look good and get compliments for it. I also have a great eagerness for scents. I like all of the different fragrances. Initially, I had one perfume that I’d wear literally everywhere but spotted that after a while it got old and predicted. Before people even saw me, they knew I was there thanks to the smell. People started Calling me after the title of my scent. So I chose to change it up and wear perfumes based mostly on how was I feeling that day or how it best fits with my outfit. Everyone loved that about me as I came in with a brand spanking new perfume every day. I like the sensation of knowing I’m the most stylish in the room.
I was always the center of attention when it came to fashion but one day a woman caught my eye. She was actually the manager of sales as well but for a different region. She was very good at her job and ever since she started, I have put it on myself to compete with her for the top sales rank. I also hated the proven fact that she also had an eye on glamour and fashion like me. People started referring to her as the queen of style and this actually started getting to me. I know she had great style but I am not getting what all of the fuss was about. How did she unseat me? I didn’t help that my body language was basically screaming my hate for the lady.
Yesterday I reached my breaking point when I noticed her holding the exact same Louis Vuitton handbag that I owned. I took me so long to get that bag because of its price . I asked every resource I had what sort of salary this woman was making so I can understand how she was able to get the bag. Seemingly my salary is 40% more than hers. So how did she get it?
I bumped into her on purpose and asked her to eat lunch with me so I could find out how she could afford such a costly purse. I artfully asked about her LV purse and she grinned. She questioned if I noticed anything different and I said no. She then let me know that it was essentially from a collection of Louis Vuitton duplicate purses. When she told me about the Louis Vuitton copy handbags I couldn’t believe it. I ordered some myself the following day.
