How To’s When Dressing Up With Tall Boots

Boots are certainly no longer just for keeping the feet warm in winter, or keeping out mud and water like in farm work. Boots are inconsequentially part of the fashion world. They can create a different look for an outfit that is otherwise conventional. Because fashion boots are made in different lengths and designs, it is great fun indeed to mix and match outfits with them.

Boots can make an ordinary and casual combination of jeans and shirt look more tasteful and noticeable. Knee-length leather boots for instance make jeans and a polo shirt, perhaps with an accessory scarf, look more chic and sophisticated. It also has several other advantages, like creating an illusion of slimmer legs and longer calves. For a more formal look suitable for the workplace, put on a simple plain colored turtleneck.

It is also more fashionably wise to wear boot-cut or skinny jeans if one intends to wear jeans with knee-length boots. First of all, it will be more comfortable for the wearer. The tight space in high-cut boots will not have much breathing space for the calves if flared jeans are worn with them. Second, it might look obvious if you’re wearing flared jeans inside your boots because the folds may show in the knee area. It will also look tacky if your jeans are puffed and loose around the thighs.

Dresses also look well when worn with knee-high boots. Even if these boots are leather or sheepskin, a lot of dresses sill still look good along with them. High boots and a dress, whether skimming the knee or below it in length, will look good if the color and design combination is right. It is advisable to wear a plain skirt if the boots already have ostentatious prints and designs.

You can also take the basic rule that every other color looks good with black. Start with a pair of black knee-high boots. They look great with dresses that skims the knee or below it. Skirts that are bohemian inspired look very fashionable when paired with tall boots. The combination looks great especially when the skirt is made from light and floaty cotton.

Knee-high boots paired with a short skirt or denim shorts look very sexy, especially if you are blessed with long legs. The bit of skin that shows between the boots and the shorts or skirt will certainly entice the eyes and draw attention to your legs. Boost up the sexy look with a loose-fitting blouse or sleeved button-up shirt. A tank top can of course do the trick, but a loose blouse can also give the illusion of a slim figure underneath.

These outfits are also great when used with winter boots. They are frequently in earth color tones so they are easy to match with the combinations mentioned above. But for long skirts, it is better to choose winter boots without the fluffy fur on the top.
