You may not realize that accelerated online degree programs are the quickest and easiest path to a new future. There are some fast track programs now available at online universities that give you the opportunity to get that college degree in 24 months, or less. This means that you will be able to step into a higher paying job and a better life sooner than you had imagined.

Knowing that an accelerated program from an online university is the quickest degree that you can find, how can you get started with one today? Follow these guidelines and you’ll be well on your way to completing this goal and advancing your life.

It all begins with a little investigation of the opportunities that are available. Do not be afraid to look into all of the possibilities regarding online colleges. The number of college level courses being offered is being expanded on an almost daily basis, and you are sure to find some that will interest you.

Decide on the degree that you would like to pursue and then select the institutions that offer the appropriate classes. You can even do a side by side comparison check of the courses, pre-requisites, and educational requirements. Remember that there are more traditional programs that are also available online. You should be certain that you are selecting a plan of study that involves an accelerated program so that you can earn your degree in the shortest possible timeframe.

After you research the different options that you have the next step is to apply to the school of your choice. Unlike applying to a traditional university where you have to wait months before you hear back and then wait another few months before you can actually get started, online universities are extremely quick with their admissions and the entire enrolling process. In many cases the entire process will just take a few short weeks, and you’ll be well on your way to that degree.

Once you’re in the program that you applied for, you must plan out a schedule that will allow you to maximize the accelerated program. Take a full course load and be sure to go after all of your required classes whenever they are available so you don’t get stuck waiting for them later.

Essentials for the Quickest Degree

* Check out the possibility of transferring your previous college credits. Most college courses can be applied toward the credit requirements for a new degree. Even if you have taken classes 5-10 years ago you may still be able to use the credit hoursin your new online bachelor degree course.

* The best way to move through the college degree program quickly is by signing up for classes throughout the year. Most of the online courses are set up so that they are offered every quarter as opposed to every semester. If you tackle a full load of classes every 3 months you will race through the degree requirements in less time than you thought possible.

* There is no time like the present to begin your new educational program. Those online colleges are fast and efficient when it comes to getting new students approved and enrolled. If you send your online application to them right now it will only be a short time until you hear back from them. Then you will be able to start on the path to earning a respected college degree.

The truth of the matter is that a fast track degree or accelerated education program is your quickest way to earn a degree. You have to make the first step and after that it will be smooth sailing. Imagine becoming a college graduate in only 2 short years, or less. Are you really ready to take control of your life and change course toward a brighter tomorrow?

One of your most important tasks at the beginning of college is to choose a subject that you will major in. This decision is not as difficult as it may seem, especially if you take a careful look at your interests, aptitude and future career goals. If you are still undecided about your college major then consider using my step-by-step guide that is described below.

The first question to ask yourself is “what are you good at?” It is quite logical to build on your strengths rather than to struggle with courses that you may find extremely difficult. For example, if you had good success in high school language courses, either English or foreign languages, then consider continuing that in college with a language major. If you excelled in high school science courses then move in that direction with a major in the area of science that interests you the most. So, look back at your academic career till now and then think about majoring in an area that you have already shown some strength.

Do you know what you want to do when you finish college? If so then this career objective or future plan of action can guide you in choosing a major. For example if you want to be a kindergarten teacher, then an education major makes the most sense. Or if you want to go to law school then a major in any of a number of social sciences would be useful.

In case you are not really sure about what you want to do after college, then it makes sense to choose a major that will give you some flexibility. For example, if you major in economics you will be well placed for careers in the broad sphere of business. A major in English or a foreign language could also prove useful in several careers or as a way to enter post-graduate studies. So if you haven’t figured out what you want to do next, select a major that will give you maximum flexibility.

Perhaps the best way to choose a college major is simply to choose a major in the area that you love the most. If you have been fascinated by space travel since childhood, then consider majoring in mathematical, science and technical courses that could pave the way for a career in the aero-space field. If you are interested in a particular area of the world, then maybe you should major in one of the languages of that area.

After considering the steps mentioned above, the next thing to do is to sign-up for some elective courses the fields that you have identified as possible majors. If a course in political science, for example, does not turn out to be what you expected, then you might have to consider whether you want to really major in this field. So, test out some of your possible majors and then reconsider after you have taken the first courses in those areas.

Break down the task of choosing your major by asking yourself the questions about your interests, abilities and goals, and most importantly test out your inclinations in your elective courses during the first year and one half of college. You will surely find the major that is best for you.

by Monica Matthews

You have your letters of recommendation, scholarship resume, and have carefully filled out the scholarship application. All you need to do now is write the winning essay. What can you write about that will get the attention of the scholarship judges? Where do you start? What is the secret to writing an essay that will help you win the scholarship money?

First, you need to understand that the point of having you write the essay is so that the judges can get to know YOU. They already know your name, SAT/ACT score, GPA, date of birth, etc… When you write the essay you get a chance to share with the judges your opinions, thoughts, and feelings about the subject they ask you to write about. They will be instantly bored if you start your essay with something like, “My name is _______ and I go to _______ high school”. This information is found on your application and is not very interesting!

To get the attention of the judges (who possibly have thousands of essays to read), start your essay with a compelling statement. Grab their attention right away and give them the desire to want to read your essay right through until the end, rather than skim it or toss it in the trash after the first few paragraphs. How do you do this? Think about the subject of the essay, decide what your opinion is, and then tie it into something that you’ve actually lived and firmly believe in. For example, to answer the question, “How will this scholarship money help you?” you can start with “I love to sleep in, but for the last year I have dragged myself out of bed each Saturday morning so I can get down to my local children’s hospital to read stories to the sick children who are patients there…” Then you can go on to explain how much you want to be a doctor and the scholarship money would help you pay for college and bring you one step closer to this dream.

By writing your essay, you are able to make yourself real to the judges. You know that you are more than a name on a piece of paper and now is the time to prove it. Help the judges use their imaginations to see you in their minds by writing with lots of real life situations, heartfelt emotions, and descriptive words. Use tools like the thesaurus to make your writing come alive and be remembered by the judges. Tell the truth and never lie in your essays. Write your own essay and do not let your parent write the essay for you. Remember, scholarship judges have read a TON of essays and can easily spot the ones that are not student-written, stretch the truth, and want to win so badly that they will say anything to make themselves look better than the other applicants.

Scholarship judges want to find YOU in your scholarship essay. By writing from your heart, telling the truth, and drawing them in from the very first sentence, your chances of winning the scholarship improve dramatically. There are other ways to make all your scholarship applications stand out right from the moment the judges pull your applications out of the envelopes. Visit http://www.how2winscholarships.com for free scholarship tips and to learn the method that will put your application above the rest and win free money for college.
