Credit makes the world go around, at least in our capitalistic country. It seems these days there isn’t much that you can do without it; including landing a job.

It might sound crazy to you, because it certainly sounds wild to me, but when you apply for a career and consent to a background check, the possible employer can also check your credit history. To me, this is not any potential employer’s concern. What credit follies I may have made in the past I am visibly trying to remedy by obtaining a job and it will be very difficult for me to fix anything without a job.

Thanks to a steadily declining job market, credit scores are on the decline. People are getting behind on credit card payments, going into foreclosure, and filing for bankruptcy protection. So finding a job with a bad credit score is a double edged sword.

According to those who are for the credit score check prior to hiring an employee money problems could mean that the person has a disorder in their life that could lead to sour work behavior, counting employee thievery. These same people said that individuals with elevated credit histories are not as likely to have poor work habits and be trustworthy as well as reliable.

I, as well as a number of experts, believe there is no comprehensible link linking a credit score and history and the job that an individual can do. I am not saying that there is something wrong with having a pristine credit history, just that you can’t count out those who don’t. Credit reports simply don’t account for layoffs, the overall economic conditions regarding unemployment, and things like medical bills or identity theft.

There is someone I know who is the best person with money. He actually is the biggest saver I’ve ever met. Unfortunately, through a couple of bad business deals and poor judgments of character, this man’s credit fell to a very low number. These kinds of things stay on your credit report for seven years for the most part. Think about it, if you can start your credit history when you’re 18, do you think you’re the same person at 25? How about the difference between 23 and 30?

I think that if an employer is going to check an applicant’s credit history, perhaps he or she should give the applicant the chance to explain blemishes on their credit report rather than just judging that applicant for things that may be nearly a decade old. Even though I would still not agree with the system, I think that this would at least give the candidate a chance to justify the situation instead of just being thought of as a “bad prospect” to a possible employer.

The difference between a safely delivered package and one that has been totally destroyed is all in the packaging supplies you use. The risk of damage can be virtually be nonexistent as long as you are using the properly shaped and sized box. You can find some very helpful tips below for the things you should be on the look out for in a great packaging supply company.

The right packaging supplies to safeguard your packages against damage all starts with using the right box. Any box or container can be used for storage, but when it comes to shipping those items things become more complex. There are several factors that should be taken in to consideration to minimize the risk of your items bouncing around in their box.

If you have found a good packaging supply company they should be able to easily offer you a wide range of boxes to fit all of your needs. They will also have excellent customer service that can quickly identify and solve any problems you might have. It’s always better to ask a professional rather then find out the hard way.

Picking the right box is only the beginning when preparing to ship your items. You also need to pick the right kind of wrapping material and tape. Packaging supply companies will offer these items in addition to boxes. Labels are usually available as well with things like “Fragile” and “Handle With Care” written on them. Labels are vital for proper handling during shipping. Without them the handlers have no clue what is inside the boxes the are loading and unloading. When they are labeled it gives them a good idea as to how rough they can be with your packages.

When you have located a supply company that can provide a large variety of materials then you have found a good company. A lot of people avoid using professional supply companies because they feel it will be too expensive for their needs. This couldn’t be further from the truth. In all actuality you can save quite a bit of money by using this option. When you buy in large quantities from these companies they often give you special offers and discounts. A Repeat customer can receive some nice bonuses by exclusively using only one company.

A good supply company will let you use their services and make purchases from them at any time even if you are a new customer. They should provide you with the same attention that a repeat customer would get even if it is your first time using their services. You should never have to go through a huge process just to do business with a company.

By taking the time to find the right supply company from the beginning you will have a valuable resource you can always turn to. The right company with be able to provide you with boxes, wrapping, tape, labels and any other mail supply needs you might have.

It should always be easy to get started. You can log on to their website and browse what they have to offer as well as contact their customer service if you have any questions before buying.

For every single job posting a company lists, the employer can receive hundreds of applicants. Sometimes there are so many applicants, many resumes and applications are overlooked or never thoroughly reviewed at all. The best introduction to a recruiter and a great way to get your foot in the door is with effective, eye-catching cover letters. Here are tips for successful components of an effective cover letter.

There are a few rules of thumb in writing a good cover letter. The first step is to keep it to one page. Many employers don’t want to take time to read in-depth information. They want to scan quickly to see if the applicant has any unique characteristics for the position they have posted.

Start your cover letters with your contact information. If you have the name of the Hiring Manager, address it to them specifically. Be sure to include the job title and any other reference information that was included in the job posting. The second step is to tailor your cover letters to the specific position you are applying for.

Then you’ll need an introduction. This describes your interest in the position, how it fits into future goals and why you’ll be an asset to the organization. This should be a short paragraph with 2 to 3 sentences.

The tricky part is the next area. Here’s where you have to sell your credentials, taking up as little space as possible. The catch here is to key in on areas of experience and successes that you have that tie directly to the qualifications, experience and requirements listed in the job posting that you are applying for. Responsibilities and successful accomplishments will be intriguing.

The fourth step would be your closing paragraph. Here you thank them for reviewing your qualifications, you look forward to discussing your credentials further, answer any questions they may have and look forward to discussing an opportunity to work in their organization at their earliest convenience. Include the best time that you can be reached. End it with a standard business closure, best regards and your name, and that your resume is attached.

The final phase of creating effective cover letters is to read it to make sure all the details are communicated the way you meant for them to be. Catch and correct any mistakes so that you won’t deliver a letter that has mistakes as this will pretty much immediately eliminate you showing that you don’t have attention to detail and are not thorough. A good rule of thumb is not to mention pay rates expected. Have a relative review it and share their opinions.

By following steps and taking time to carefully portray yourself briefly outlining your experience as it relates to the job, you’ll successfully gain the employers attention. One thing to avoid is repeating things that are contained in the resume. The cover letters should be personalized and unique promoting elements that can’t be uncovered in the resume. If you do this, you will be successful landing a job.

“Packaging tape only, please” is what you will hear at the post office if you try to send a parcel sealed with anything else. So do not try to seal your box with duct tape or scotch tape. It will not make it past the counter let alone across the country. And if you do not have it at the post office they will try to sell it to you there. But be prepared for their inflated price. Buy packaging tape instead online or at your favorite discount store.

The post office and other delivery companies require packaging tape because it holds securely and because of its reliability. These features make packaging tape great for other purposes. The post office knows the tape will keep boxes from busting at the seams. This means you can trust packaging tape for other jobs.

Do you need something sealed but you do not want to the tape to be seen? Packaging tape is a good choice because it is clear.

Do you have a rip in your sofa or couch. Packaging tape works great to keep the rip or tear from getting bigger. Is especially works well on vinyl furniture.

Packaging tape is great if you have wood molding that needs attaching. Sometimes you cannot hammer a nail because you may split the wood. Instead use a strip of packaging tape.

You can use packaging tape in your car. How many times does car upholstery tear because of sun damage? You can keep tears or rips from getting bigger with a strip of packaging tape until you can repair the area. This also works for the ceiling of the inside of your car if there is tear there.

In the summer time you leave your windows open. But if there is tear in the screen in come the flies and mosquitoes. Use a strip of tape on the screen door or window to keep them out until you can replace the screen. And because the tape is clear you can use it on security doors which have screens on them. There are usually gaps left between the screen and wrought iron. The tape you stick there will not be seen unless someone knows it is there.

Use packaging tape to secure a flyer around a telephone pole or light post. You might want to advertise a yard or garage sale. Use packaging tape and that flyer will not be coming down very easily.

The post office is the expert when it comes to shipping packages. They know a good product when they see one, and packaging tape is a good product. But this good product is not limited to only sealing packages. As you can see there are many, many uses for packaging tape. And I am sure once you keep a roll handy you will find many more uses for it as well.

How to Dispute Your Equifax Credit Report

by Ben Casey

How to Dispute Your Equifax Credit Report

Would you like to remove those nagging negative items from your credit report?

To begin with, you will need to request a copy of your Equifax credit report so you can review its contents for negative and inaccurate entries. Entries that damage your credit include:

third party actions

court decisions, such as judgments

Chapter 7/Chapter 13 filings

home foreclosures

auto or boat repossessions

wage garnishment

late payments

settled accounts, collection – paid or settled for less

public records/judgments

A dispute letter to Equifax is the next step. You should draft a letter which outlines your reason for believing the reported information is inaccurate. Be sure to include your personal information in the letter.

Finally, you will need to wait 30-45 days to receive Equifax’s determination.

After I Mail My Dispute Letter, What Happens?

If you win your dispute with Equifax, you should continue to clear up any unresolved issues, including remaining inaccurate bad credit. Once you eliminate all traces of bad credit, you should focus on resolving any other discrepancies such as address and employment information.

When a dispute is resolved in your favor, Equifax will remove the disputed information. On occasion the credit bureau will update an item with newly acquired information which can be good or bad depending upon what the creditor reports to Equifax. For instance, Equifax may update a collection account with the most recent balance owed.

If you lose your Equifax dispute, the negative items will stay on your report possibly for the next 7-10 years. If this happens, you still have some options to continue the credit repair process.

At times, a simple dispute is not effective and more advanced methods are necessary. At this point, it is wise to seek the advice of a legal professional who can employ methods such as payment for deletion, debt validation, or possibly even negotiating directly with the creditor.

It is important to understand that creditors are not required to report credit history to credit bureaus. Only credit bureaus must follow the law requiring the seven year limit. Therefore, an experienced attorney may be able to convince a creditor to remove a negative credit item.

by Susan Eliot

I like to look at medical transcription as a career where there are no limits. Currently, you may not be making the medical transcriptionist salary that is ideal. Well, I am here to let you know that no matter how much or how little you are making right now, there is always room for improvement.

Below you will see five easy ways that anyone can raise their medical transcriptionist salary in a short period of time:

1. Have you ever tried typing with no help at all? This is usually the case for a lot of beginners. To speed up your production, (and salary of course), you must getd a word expander program. If you are not sure what a word expander program is, then I will be the first to tell you that it is affordable software that allows you to type in the whole word, and then lets you to expand it when you type in the partial word. For example, if you want to type in the word, “transcription”, all you have to do is type something like “trans” and the word expander will then type out the whole word for you. You wouldn’t believe how much time can be saved, and how much extra money can be made.

2. Something else I like to recommend to people who are looking to increase their pay is to purchase a comfortable desk and chair. When you think about the fact that you will be sitting for almost half the day, it would be very profitable to make sure that you can move with ease. Make sure that your computer is not up to high and that your keyboard isn’t down too low and vice versa. Desk discomfort can hinder production a lot more than you think.

3. A different way to increase your medical transcriptionist salary is to look for higher-paying medical transcriptionist jobs. The normal starting salary is about .6 to .8 cents per line. That doesn’t sound like very much, but if you type quickly, you can make more than the average transcriptionist. Be sure that the company you apply with also includes spaces. If they don’t include spaces, then you are going to end up typing twice as much just to get by.

4. Something that you should definitely own is a foot pedal, or at least learn all of the shortcuts, such as hot keys. You see, when you are transcribing a report, you will constantly have to start, stop, rewind, and fast forward the dictation. Instead of having to take your hands off the keyboard and using your mouse, you can use your foot pedal or hot keys. With medical transcription, every second counts.

5. And finally, I like to suggest that people work on the quality of their reports. The reason why is because if you can type a good report with little to no errors, then the company you work for will value you much more as a worker, and will be much more likely to increase your pay. You will also have a better chance of snagging those higher-paying positions that start off around .12 to .14 cents per line instead of .6 to .8 cents per line.It is so simple to increase your medical transcriptionist pay. All it takes is a little bit of knowledge on your part. A word expander and a comfortable chair and desk can mean the difference between an extra 100 to 300 lines per hour. Owning a foot pedal can help you tack on an extra 50 to 100 or more. Over the period of a couple of hours, you can make up to five times as much as you would without any help, which is really an entire paycheck!

How much social media or networking helping organizations to hire talented people? We find many recruiters nowadays effectively using social networking for hiring the best people for an organization. Now the question which needs to be answered is on whether this social networking can replace other recruiting tools.

One of the best and better ways to find and recruit talent for an organization is via the social media route. However, many people and recruiters still believe the fact that its worth is still not explored to a larger extent.

Only very few recruiters have been successful using social media to hire the best talent for an organization. Hence its overall benefits and success rate needs to be judged and figured out by the organizations and recruiters as well. I have seen many recruiters praising the method of social networking as one of the most remarkable solutions in comparison to the older conventional tools available in the industry today.

There are various thoughts and feelings which sets the mood and platform for people to interact online. Let us see how does it affects the online networking circuit.

What does the recruiter or hiring person thinks:

The hiring consultant is confident that as soon as he joins any social media site he is definitely going to get an access to an immense pool of talented professionals. On the various communities or specific networking groups he is confident to find people related to his industry or market. To check whether this statement is true we have to analyze what people want or think when they interact with one another on the social arena.

Psychology of the People joining Social Media sites:

People look forward to stay in touch and connect with their friends. Most of the people interact through various social mediums to build strong and long term connections with their offline friends. They also look forward in gaining value by sharing information and their networks with others. Most of the individuals talk about their personal lives and very few indulge in career related activities or sharing their future aspirations with others. There are various dedicated sites on developing great career prospects however for our current discussion, I would like to keep them out of it.

What can be figured out from this kind of behaviour of usage is:

The connection strength is quite huge in comparison to an individual’s network.

Men responses are less if we compare it to any women. Six or more will be an average number of people with whom a female will be interacting while a man would manage to handle four at any point in time. The mixing of people with common background or profession is seen less as major talk revolves around sharing personal details and achievements. You are also not able to judge where that individual is working or what are his qualifications as people tend to avoid mentioning such details on their social networking profile. You are also not sure whether he has been successful in his profession or what his current employment status is till date.

The study above influences our decision and challenges us to revisit and analyze whether it is beneficial to judge people on the various so called social networking sites. Much deeper study is required before declaring this tool to be complete in all aspects.

How much successful is Social Media?

Discussions around career development or honing one’s skills are seldom found in the various chatrooms or scraps. As a recruiter one would be able to extract very limited information on an individual’s candidature which most of the times leads to incorrect decision making. The profile of many individuals seems to hide the useful information and often carries plane garbage. This leads to a lot of confusions and many times resulting in delays and unjustifiable decisions.

How Do You Verify Online Details Of Candidates?

Assuming that a recruiter has finally shortlisted few candidates based on his assumptions and information provided on a networking site. The challenge lies here is on the verification of information collected to assess an individual’s background. There are very few resources like LinkedIn to rely upon to confirm the details shared by an individual in his profile. It is advisable to be more cautious on relying on social media at this point.

Recruiters need to really work hard on totally relying on social media to be the best solution for sourcing and recruitment for organizations. There has to be a certain change in the information shared at these sites which can be utilized by potential organizations or recruters for their benefit.

Denver has become a more popular destination as the city continues to grow. These people are driven by the force of new jobs and real estate flyers from printers Denver companies. Denver is one of the few cities that has practically unlimited growth space.

In fact, it is the second largest city in the West next to Phoenix. This large metropolitan city started as a small prospector’s town in 1858. It is expected that 800,000 new jobs will created by the 2% increase in population each year by 2030.

Each of Denver’s communities are well known, but not clearly distinguished from each other. The Lower Downtown area is also known as the LoDo. High class lofts make up most of the LoDo area. The Denver Zoo, Coors field, and 16th Street Mall are all very close to the LoDo district. Many printers Denver companies use pictures of these attractions to bring in new residents to the area. About 10 minutes from downtown you can find Washington Park, Hilltop, and Cherry Creek, the affluent districts of Denver. Here you can find homes in Victorian styles and modern townhouses. Real estate is at it most expensive if you want to live in this part of Denver.

A lot of new comers like to know more about the suburbs of Denver, like Highlands Ranch and Aurora. Real estate flyers often advertise these homes with printers Denver companies because new properties are being constructed throughout the year. Homes around here are closely located to downtown, but don’t have the traffic problems. The Light Rail will help move traffic between the suburbs and downtown to reduce this problem. Residents in Denver are offered the some of the best school districts in the country. Several elementary, middle, and high schools are located throughout the area, as well as numerous Universities.

Cultural festivals have become more popular as the diversity of the city grows. Traditional festivals include the Great American Beer Festival and the National Western Stock Show. Mexican holidays like Cinco de Mayo and El Grito de la Independencia are celebrated, as well as the Chinese Dragon Boat Festival, Moon Festival, and the Chinese New Year. Everyone loves the Polarpalooza-Denver Zoo Free Day, which lets residents of Denver visit the animals free of charge.

Downtown Denver has been updated to make it more accessible by foot, and a $5 million dollar airport was added to make access to the city easier. Lots of people come into the area to hike, ski, snowboard, and bike along the Rocky Mountains. Clear skies 300 days a year make up for Denver’s quick changing weather conditions. This gives residents plenty of time to spend in the 90 top notch golf courses and the hundreds of parks. If you are making real estate brochures with printers Denver companies, you should make sure to include plenty of information on these activities.

Most individuals begin working for the first time, with part time jobs. Part-time jobs are an excellent way for a high school student to earn some extra money, as well as learn responsibility. They are also a perfect opportunity for a previously employed individual to earn extra money.

Most college students rely upon part-time jobs to make ends meet. Many are paying their own way through college, and need this money to pay their bills. Others may have their college tuition already paid for, but work part time jobs, in order to have spending money.

One drawback to having a part-time job, is that more often than not, these positions do not include healthcare benefits. For some individuals who are working several part-time jobs, while seeking full-time employment, this can certainly present an issue. For students, the retired, and parents who are subsidizing an existing income, this is less of an issue. Usually, these individuals already have healthcare benefits.

Part-time jobs offer the opportunity to learn certain skills that you may not possess. This certainly presents the chance for individuals to become more employable in the future. Many people have gone on to form careers, and even open their own business, based on the skills they have a quiet to a part-time job.

A part-time job should not be considered trivial. This is not the time to socialize, and goof off. Is important to remember that having you in the workplace, is costing your employer money. Before accepting any job, including a part-time job, it is important to know what you will be paid. Once you have agreed upon this wage, you have also agreed to do the work properly. A person who does the job well, makes money for their employer. This will certainly not go unnoticed. This is an employee who, has developed a reputation, as one who can be counted on. Most employers will appreciate this, and reward it.

Again, do not go off, just because this is a part-time job. This is a quick way to find yourself unemployed. Be sure to clean up your own messes, and keep things as tidy as possible. You should also know where all necessary supplies are kept, and keep them well stocked.

Remind yourself, that you have been employed for a reason. No matter how menial a job may seem, it is apparently integral to the business, otherwise the position would not have been available. The important thing, is to do the best job that you are able to do. Think about it, if you are willing to work hard, and do an excellent job at something which seem small and insignificant, how much more willing will it seem that you are, to do an excellent job at something which is clearly important.

Pay attention! Search out the most successful people at your workplace. Find out what they do, how they do it, and why. This will give you all that you need in order to achieve success. These are the answers to what you should do, how you should do it, and why. Make a practice of copying the success of these individuals, and you will soon find yourself at the top with them.

Part-time jobs are much more important than many people realize. This could be your key to a successful future.
